│ LOTTERY ── ESSENTIAL │
│ INFORMATION │
╘════════════════════════╛
Welcome to the shareware version of LOTWON, the OLYMPIC edition!
You might have thought that lottery is impossible to beat: the odds are
deadly high. Or you might have tried some other lottery programs
and they convinced you that such action is futile. You might have
thought that luck and only luck can bring the big bucks!...
There is no luck without rules!
It was the year 1654 when a new science was born. We may
call it 'mathematics of luck'. They call it 'theory of
probability'. Her father was the prestigious French philosopher
and mathematician Blaise Pascal. (We use today a programming
language named after him.)
A French aristocrat ── Chevalier de Méré ── challenged Pascal
with the famous 'problème des parties': the division problem, or
the problem of points. Basically, when a game of chance is
interrupted on legitimate reasons, how should the prize money be
divided among the players? It is a very difficult question!...
Say, two players compete in a backgammon match on the 'best
out of three games' basis. The match is interrupted when a player
leads 1-0. The common belief is that the player who leads should
not get any money. When the match resumes, both players have
equal chances to win the match (50% chance), exactly like when
the game started!... Pascal proved that wrong and he relied on
serious mathematics. Even today we come across events similar to
the problem of points. Lottery is one example. I am very
surprised to hear lottery officials say that a number or a set of
numbers has (have) an equal chance of appearance every time a
drawing is conducted. I have even heard that a number can be
drawn day after day, after day, after day...
I hate to say this, but seems to me that lottery officials
are just political appointees. I doubt that many of them opened a
handbook of theory of probability. There are cases, indeed, when
a 3-digit number comes out 2 days in a row. Such events are very
rare, because their probability is very low. Simply and purely,
numbers do not have the same chance of appearance in every
drawing. This is what Pascal's science is about.
Let's continue the 3-digit example very briefly. We'll
detail the facts a bit later. The probability of any number, say
1-2-3, to come out today is 1/1000 (0.1%). Its probability to
come out 2 days in a row is 1/1000 x 1/1000 = 1/1,000,000 (1 in 1
million, or 0.00001%). A very low probability. The chance for
number 1-2-3 to come out 3 days in a row is 1/1000 x 1/1000 x
1/1000 = 1/1,000,000,000 (1 in 1 billion). The mathematicians
call such events 'possible but improbable'. The chance for the
Moon to collide with the Earth is 'possible but improbable'.
If you witness a number 'drawn' 3 days in a row, we can be
almost certain that the drawing was 'fixed'. Our best reaction
would be to ask for an investigation...
Now, you might have wondered legitimately why programmers
sold their miraculous strategies when it was more sensible to
keep them secret and win time after time after time...
As soon as I decided to market these lottery programs, a
friendship broke up; my ex-colleague wanted me use the programs
for ourselves only. It's amazing how successful the programs were
to begin with, back in 1987.
I decided to market them, nonetheless. It's a good question if
you're asking "Why?". Until the end of 1988, I couldn't have
answered such a question: I wanted to be the only user of my
programs. Reluctantly, I changed my mind and now I am marketing
the lottery programs known as LOTWON groupage.
Basically, there are three reasons for my decision:
1) It may be IN SEARCH OF GLORY. I definitely enjoy making
public a discovery and take the whole credit for it. Perhaps
somebody else would have come across the same patterns in lottery
drawings and would have incorporate the discovery in computer
programs some day.
2) It may be MONEY. Lottery is a market with a huge
potential and it really lacks sensible know-how. It's a great
opportunity for the serious investor. Such a large market is
dominated by voodoo, astrology, divination, charlatanism...
Isn't it a shame? Lottery is undoubtedly a chapter of
mathematics, namely the theory of probability, not the domain of
mysticism!
I was so impressed, I could hardly believe it, when somebody who
read the LOTWON ad sent me his name and birth date and asked me
to tell him the "hot" numbers of his lotto game for Wednesday of
so and so!...
I recognize nonetheless some legitimate efforts in lottery
software, although such efforts are all centered around the same
principle and the result is near-uselessness. Besides, they cost
way to much, considering their very limited results.
3) Marketing means PROGRESS. Believe me, I am glad I
started to sell my programs. It really sharpened my skills. I
have become more responsible -- keep your customers satisfied.
The LOTWON programs have dramatically improved ever since they
showed up on the market. To understand the difference, think of
the first word processors when the PCs first appeared. Those word
processors got the job done, they were useful; but they were
primitive when compared to top-notch word processors of today.
The inter-action creator-user made the difference.
The same is true for LOTWON programs. They worked even before the
marketing, but in a cumbersome fashion. Now, I do enjoy working
with them and their performance improved a great deal. I do win
more consistently. This is a wonderful lesson for me: have a
positive attitude towards people who expect from you highest
quality services. Try hard to satisfy everybody and you too will
get greater satisfaction.
As of now, no user of LOTWON programs has manifested
dissatisfaction.
These are the main reasons why I decided to market the
LOTWON programs. Let's go back to the first question: can the
odds be beaten?
YES ── they can. All odds. Seemingly, all my life I have run
against the odds. I am an American now ── it is against all odds.
I had asked for years to emigrate to America and I met odds high
up to the sky. Then a day came when I crossed a damn well guarded
border and I heard the odds collapsing behind me. Here I am now
in front of the most adorable thing I found in America: the
personal computer. I bought the first one even before I owned a
car.
This is the marvelous tool that helped me to understand and
control and defeat another category of odds. I am speaking of
lottery games and their high odds. Based on my solid knowledge of
mathematics, I started the research. I discovered patterns and I
verified them in a probabilistic perspective. Then the hardest
part was to make the computer imitate my thinking. It was not
easy and I hope you'll agree. You won't be able to find any book
on computer programming to deal with pattern checking and pattern
eliminating in random events.
To be concise, I only show you what I mean by SCIENTIFIC
APPROACH to lottery. Every pattern checking and eliminating
condition used by LOTWON programs must be backed by specific
formulae. If a rule in my programs is not govern by a formula,
then it is just another voodoo gimmick. You can find a lot of
voodooism in other lottery programs, like "cold & hot"
numbers!... There is no formula of a cold number, believe me!
The cornerstone of LOTWON programs is the FORMULA OF
INDIVIDUAL PROBABILITY. It looks like this:
╔═══════════╗
║ P = 1/N. ║
╚═══════════╝
It speaks like this: "the probability of an event is the result
of dividing 1 by the total number of events".
Thus, in the case of the 3-digit game, the total number of events
is 1,000. The probability of appearance of any number is:
P = 1/1,000.
The probability of number 4-9-2 is 1 in 1,000 and each 3-digit
number has the same probability. They explain this formula in a
reverse way: the odds are N to 1. The odds to win straight with
number 4-9-2 are 1,000 to 1. The odds to win the jackpot with the
combination 23-40-17-9-28-36 are 3,838,830 to 1 in a lotto 6/40
game.
The reverse way of interpreting the formula of individual
probability leads to another precious concept: THE NUMBER OF
TOTAL EVENTS NECESSARY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL APPEARANCE.
┌────────┐
│N = 1/P.│
└────────┘
In the example of the 3-digit game, the total number of drawings
necessary for number 4-9-2 to come out is 1,000. In the long run,
they say, every 3-digit number should come out once in 1,000
drawings. (Of course, reality doesn't match theory perfectly ──
we'll talk more later.) So, if every number shows up in 1,000
drawings, then it is similar to saying that every daily number
REPEATS after 1,000 drawings. This is the THEORETICAL horizon of
appearance.
One might object immediately: there are numbers that come
out 4 times in 1 year (or within a 300-drawing range)!... That's
true, but such events are the EXCEPTION, not the RULE.
There is yet another valuable law of probabilities: THE LAW OF
BIG NUMBERS. It says that after a large number of repetitions of
a field of random events, the real appearance of an individual
event is virtually equal to its theoretical value. The total
number of repetitions in order to get at least one appearance of
a particular event is reflected in a rather complicated formula
(it has logarithms!...):
┌─────────────────────────┐
│ Nt = log(1-R)/log(1-P) │
└─────────────────────────┘
It would be easier to understand this formula for a simple
example: coin tossing. The individual probability for "heads" is
P=1/2. Theoretically, we should toss the coin 2 times to get
"heads" 1 time. In such a case, the probability R to get "heads"
1 time is 0.5 (or 50%). If we repeat 5 times the event (of
tossing the coin 2 times), the probability R to get "heads" at
least 1 time is 0.95 (95%). Doing the "event" 10 times, the
probability r increases to...99.9%! It's virtually certainty!
Indeed, the hazard has its certainty.
Now, it's clearer, that in the long run, real probabilistic
events tend to match theory.
I try hard not to be boring.
I wanted to make sure that you understand the foundation of
LOTWON programs. Scientific truth is their solid ground.
The above rules and their formulae can be found in the
eliminating conditions all LOTWON programs work with.
Let's go on with the simpler example of 3-digit games. We
discovered that the repeat period for an individual number is
1,000 drawings. Accordingly, the 3-digit programs will ask you to
enter the total number of past drawings you want to use. The
program recommends 400-500 drawings, rather than 1,000.
Obviously, the reason is to get a higher probability. Of course,
you are free to enter any value you want to. Please experiment
with various numbers in order to get the best outcome.
You'll find actually a group of conditions acting together,
like total number of past drawings (it excludes straight
combinations), front & back pairs, vertical elimination etc. The
registered version will be more specific on the eliminating
conditions LOTWONs use.
You'll find also another concept in the LOTWON programs:
winning pattern, or winning streak. This concept is a
materialization of that complicated formula of logarithms. It
shows how many times we expect to run a specific program in order
to get the winning outcome. If reality (the action of drawing
lottery balls) were to follow EXACTLY the rules of theory, then
we'd simply use 999 past drawings and get the winning 3-digit
number every day! In such a case, lottery would never have come
to life.
┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ The great news is that LOTWON incorporates now programs which │
│ automatically determine the winning streak. This is a major │
│ breakthrough and changed even the promotional methods of LOTWON. │
│ The programs LOOK-34.EXE and LOOK-6.EXE are the key to calculating │
│ accurate winning strings (or streaks). Before the current version, │
│ all users, myself included, had to figure out the strings through │
│ trial-and-error. │
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
I recommend you start 1-2 months back, before you actually play
the LOTWON programs. Try to discern the winning pattern using the
LOOK*.EXE programs and the corresponding FORMS (they are on this disk).
Make sure you have at hand as many past drawings as possible for the
3-digit, 4-digit, and lotto games of your state. Any state
lottery agency keeps records of all drawings they conduct. Some
agencies are really nice -- like Maryland state lottery -- and
they'll send a complete list of their games as many times as you
ask for. Tell your state agency to follow the wonderful example
of Maryland Lottery, who provide such lists FREE. I recommend,
however, that you send to your lottery agency a stamped-self-
self-addressed-envelope (SASE) along with your request. Also,
there are nationwide lottery services that provide lists of
numbers for a fee. "The Lottery Player's Magazine" and "USA
Today" publish lottery numbers for all lotteries.
You may face yet another difficulty: your lotto game does
not have a long history. The LOTWON lotto programs, again, work a
great deal better when use a very large database (well in excess
of 100 drawings). To overcome such trouble, you can use drawings
from a state with a similar lotto format. If you play in Florida
(lotto 6/49), then you can use drawings from other lotto 6/49s.
First type the drawings of your state, then the drawings from
other states. For all LOTWON programs, the order of the drawings
in data files is crucial; the most recent drawings are treated
specially.
┌──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ * Better still! LOTWON incorporates now a utility to │
│overcome the 'shortage' of lotto drawings! It is named APPEND-6 │
│and it generates and writes to disk lotto-6 combinations. This │
│utility creates a data file named DATA if you had not created one │
│prior to running APPEND-6.EXE. If you had created DATA before, │
│then the utility will 'append' new combinations at the end of │
│DATA. A new one is APPEND-34.EXE. * │
└──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
Well, this is paperwork, it is annoying, but strictly
necessary. Think of lottery playing as of investing. There are
many similarities between the two activities; mainly, both are of
a random nature. And you know how much paperwork an investor has
to do.
How about the other programs, the non-LOTWON programs ?
I try to be frank, sincere, and brief.
First, it's a positive idea that such programs appeared. Let's
get the most out of our computers!
I think the first lottery programs tried honestly to bring some
light and be of some help. They have relied on frequency only and
their main feature is a frequency chart. Oh well, there isn't of
much help to look at a chart, even if it is in vivid colors. You
might have experienced the frustration at not getting any
lucrative results. Number frequency is merely a myth. Frequency
has not any scientific grounds and it is a temporary trend. More
importantly, every drawing is a mixture of very frequent numbers
and not-so-frequent ones. Thus, if you play the "top 10" numbers
for example, the probability of winning is virtually equal to the
winning probability of playing the "bottom 10" numbers. Usually,
this kind of programs will recommend you play around 15 top
numbers. That would require 5,005 combinations and the odds are
still very high. It would be crazy to play all the combinations!
Consequently, the programs advise you apply one of their built-in
wheeling systems. They have a limited number (10 or so) of
wheeling systems which are copies from some lottery book. In all
honesty, I consider all this programs as being very, very weak.
They aren't of any help, really. And almost all of them seem to
apply the same principles: frequency and wheeling (they say: "we
are using 10 popular wheeling systems"!).
┌─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ * Better still! LOTWON incorporates now another utility │
│that makes all other lottery programs obsolete! Its name is │
│MOST-6 and it counts how many times each number of your lotto │
│game came out and WITH WHAT NUMBER WAS PAIRED MOST AND HOW MANY │
│TIMES SO. A new one is MOST-34.EXE. * │
└─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
You are free to try any program you want. It's your time that
counts. It takes long hours just to see a frequency report...
┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ °Pay attention, please! As soon as you open other lottery programs, │
│ you'll encounter an (in)famous DISCLAIMER! The said programs have as │
│ sole purpose an ENTERTAINING one and they are not intended at winning! │
│ You do not know in advance, however, that you are paying for a number │
│ sitcom! Or for for graph-chart entertainment!° │
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
╔════════════════════════════════╗
║ HOW TO USE THE LOTWON PROGRAMS ║
╚════════════════════════════════╝
All the programs are intuitive and easy to use. They'll tell
you exactly what to do. The prompts are absolutely self-
explanatory. You may face a little difficulty in the very
beginning when the programs ask for a data file. All 3-
DIGIT programs share a common data file named DATA3. The 4-DIGIT
games use a single data file named DATA4. MINIM-4.EXE uses a
data file named simply DATA, whereas program LOTTOWIN uses a
lotto number file in ascending order named DATA6. Please do not
change the names of the files, or else the programs won't work.
It's not a big deal, really: you just have to rename the files.
╔════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
║ This is valid for the shareware edition only. All registered programs of║
║ LOTWON work with any file name you choose, including the path. For example,║
║ you can have a file DATA-3.PA in subdirectory \DRAWINGS of subdirectory ║
║ C:\LOTWON. Thus, you can use the name C:\LOTWON\DRAWINGS\DATA-3.PA. ║
║ They work like the shareware programs LOOK-34.EXE and MOST-34.EXE. ║
║ The registered programs are larger as a result of multiple data file ║
║ handling and error handling. It's not a brilliant idea to offer shareware ║
║ programs on more than 2 disks. Shareware users do not need to pay for try- ║
║ before-you-buy as much as for registering the program. ║
╚════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
I chose the DOS editor -- EDLIN -- as the file creator. It
is extremely handy, it's in your DOS directory (EDLIN.COM).
First, EDLIN numbers the lines (the drawings, that is), so you
always know how many drawings your data files have.
Second, EDLIN lets you type in the drawings in installments. It
might be tiring to type hundreds of drawings in one session. If
you type 40 drawings today, then you can continue tomorrow with
this step: 41i. (Continue the typing process after line 40).
There is another advantage of using EDLIN. You don't need to run
the LOTWON programs every day in order to update or view the data
files. You simply invoke EDLIN and insert the drawings of the
day. I am positive, you'll become very familiar with data file
creation and maintenance after few runs.
As all DATA* files are ASCII-based, you can also create and
update them very easily with any wordprocessor which has ASCII
text capabilities (such as WordPerfect, Word, Word Star,
PC_Write, etc). All DATA* files are also easy to view on screen.
You can simply use the DOS command TYPE DATA*|MORE, or use a
'type' utility such as LIST or BROWSE (a program in the public
domain).
A piece of caution: SAVE and RETRIEVE the DATA* files only and
only in ASCII format when using other word processors/text
editors. For more safety, it is wise to have a backup copy of
your data files; also, backup the files reasonably often.
The best way to create, update, and maintain the DATA* files is the
use of a fast, compact text editors. I highly recommend QEdit and VDE.
You can order both of them from any shareware distributor.
If you want a hard copy of the output in parallel with the
video output, the programs will prompt you when to turn on your
printer and press simultaneously the <CTRL> <PRINT SCRN> key
combination. Normally, the printing starts with the prompt
referring to the highest number of your lotto game.
Some programs may have a lightning fast screen scrolling,
depending on how many drawings you're using. To freeze the
scrolling, press simultaneously the <CTRL> <NUM LOCK> key
combination, or the top rightmost key <PAUSE>. Pressing any other
key will resume program execution.
To end printer echo, press again <CTRL> <PRINT SCRN>.
To interrupt or stop, exit or re-run a program, you
have a handy option: press the function key <F10> and answer Y or
y (for YES), N or n (for NO). If you press the <F10> function
key, the program remains in memory and you can run it again for
another set of numbers, such as number of past drawings,
structure of past drawings, numbers to wheel, etc.
You'll notice at the end of each combination a NUMBER IN
BRACKETS-- it is a count (combination numbering). Obviously,
it is NOT a number to be played.
The programs will prompt you to enter the numbers of past
drawings you want to use and recommends how many. You're free to
use and experiment with as many past drawings as you want to.
That is, AS MANY AS YOUR DATA* FILES HAVE! Follow these simple
arithmetic rules to avoid any data input errors:
1) Total past drawings to use is less than or equal to total
number of lines in the data file;
2) None of the subsequent blocks of past drawings can exceed
total number of past drawings to use;
4) Exception to rule #2) : there are digit programs which
prompt for 3-synchronism and 2-synchronism (I chose not to
explain these two concepts). The values for 3- and 2-
synchronism are independent from total number of past
drawings in use. Their sum-total, however, must be less than
or equal to total number of lines (drawings) in the data
file.
Here is a simple example:
*Total lines in the data file: 100
*Total past drawings to use : 90
*Number of past drawings to eliminate pairs: 20
*Number of drawings for 2-synchr. : 50
*Number of drawings for 3-synchr. : 50 ( 50 + 50 = 100).
The systems generated by the program MINIM-4.EXE are
theoretical patterns. You have to substitute them with your
selections, picks. Have a hardcopy of the system you intend to
play, say the 10-number system. Your picks are, for example: 39,
12,24,7,18,44,15,37,9,41. So, number 39 will replace #1 in the
lotto system, 12 replaces #2, 24 replaces #3 a.s.o. In other
words, you have to re-write the computer-generated system using
your picks.
╔══════════════╗
║ REGISTRATION ║
╚══════════════╝
As you may have heard before, trying other shareware
programs, at the end of the trial period (30 days!!):
1) You are required to register, or ──
2) you are not permitted to work with the programs anymore
and you are required to destroy them ! Can you do that ? Probably
not. You'll keep and USE the programs anyway. I read some studies
and learned that most shareware authors complain that only a few
users register the programs! Who can enforce this curious
law of shareware use, after all? Virtually nobody, I could
answer. Nobody may invade your privacy and check whether you use
the shareware programs after the 30-day trial period. As long as
you keep the secret for yourself only...
The law of shareware may be enforceable against corporations, as
the courts of law incline to hit more easily a wrong-doing
company than an individual.
Given my positive experience with the preceding versions of
LOTWON, I love to believe that you too will register your LOTWON
programs. Please forget about the coercive side of registering.
The first version of LOTWON returned just around 20% in
registration. I still was amazed ── other authors lamented for
not getting registration. I have improved the programs further
and the registration rate increased, too. Just before this
version, LOTWON had about 60% registration rate. On the whole,
the registration rate is 40%.
And this is a program aimed mainly at individuals, not
corporations. Get the point? There is no fear of law enforcement.
Then, what is the secret of that amazing registration rate?
First, it's the intrinsic value of LOTWON, even in its shareware
limitation.
Second, its shareware limitation is also an incentive: the users
want more. They believe it's worth of it. Just one fact: all
registered programs are CODE OPTIMIZED for maximum accuracy and
performance. Please do not ask me what that means.
I want to stress the INCENTIVES of using the registered,
full version of LOTWON. Before anything else, it is your peace of mind.
1) First of all, LOTWON is the only lottery program which
shows winning records. It can be proven that LOTWON WILL WIN, IN
A MONTH, AT LEAST TWO TIMES MORE FREQUENTLY THAT ALL OTHER
LOTTERY PROGRAMS, COMBINED OR ON A SINGLE BASIS !
There is no doubt about it!
For this test, take any program(s) you want and compare to us.
Actually, those programs won't generate the winning
combinations, YOU have to do the guesswork and choose a built-in
lotto system! Honestly and safely, you wouldn't even need such
lottery programs. Just use any lotto systems book in order to
wheel your numbers. The lotto systems offer, indeed a higher
probability to get a prize. An inferior prize, though, especially
a '4 out of 6' win. Or, naturally, use the LOTWON utility
MINIM-4.EXE, which definitely generates the best all-around lotto
systems which meet the minimum guarantee '4 out of 6'.
2) This is the OLYMPIC version of LOTWON. There is also an extended
version, named LOTWON PROFESSIONAL. It has many more programs, in
addition to the ones on these two disks.
- LOTTO-6.EXE (works like MINIM-4.EXE, but aims at winning '6 out
of 6', or the first prize);
- LOTTOWIN.EXE (works like LOTTO-6.EXE, but generates combinations
in ascending order; it starts with the lowest combo and ends at the
highest ranked combo in a lotto-6 game; ex. from 1,3, 5, 7, 9, 20
to 23, 29, 33, 42, 48, 52);
- PICK-4.EXE (works like WIN-4.EXE, but does not require a
mandatory number);
- WIN-3.EXE (works like PICK-3.EXE, but requires a 'mandatory'
digit, your favorite digit, actually);
- LOT-M3 (a lotto program that lets you use 3 FAVORITE
NUMBERS);
- LOTTO-S (a lotto program that lets you use a FAVORITE
SUM-TOTAL);
- BOXED-3.EXE & BOXED-4.EXE (similar to PICK*.EXE, but generate
BOXED combinations as opposed to STRAIGHT digit combinations).
* The LOTWON PROFESSIONAL edition consists of 5 disks. *
3) You get also the ultimate lotto programs, a group of
four amazing lotto programs:
- MINIM-3.EXE
- MINIM-4.EXE
- MINIM-5.EXE.
- MINIM-5-7.EXE (minimum guarantee for 7-number lotto).
These newest programs have two great capabilities:
3.1) they generate the best possible lotto systems (better
than those generated by other lottery programs); for example, for
9 numbers, the program MINIM-4.EXE generates dozens of lotto
systems consisting of 3 combinations each to meet the '4 out of
6' minimum guarantee; most of the times, the systems generated
offer '4 out of 5' or two '4 out of 6' minimum assurance.
3.2) at the same time, the programs MINIM* can generate all
the combinations of your lotto game and at least one of them
meets the minimum guarantee; depending on the number of past
drawings you have available and use, these great programs can
give you minimum '3 out of 6', '4 out of 6', or '5 out of 6' with
an amazing frequency.
In all honesty, LOTWON puts America ahead of Europe. Mainly,
the Old Continent has had great lotto systems. Now, Americans can
generate the best possible lotto systems and, more importantly,
can use the computer to pick the winning combinations on a
consistent basis. They don't have that in Europe. This is the
way should be, as America invented the computers and the
astonishing personal computers.
4) Upgrades at half the price within 1 year after you placed your first
order for LOTWON.
5) LOTWON is the only lottery program that can promptly meet
any changes in lottery formats. If your state lottery commission
changes a game format, LOTWON is ready for it in a week!
Thus, you can order lottery programs in any format you wish. A
few LOTWON users have already benefited from this (for example, a
program to play Quebec's 10/20/70 lotto). This policy of custom
programs is available to registered users only.
In case of a change, when your drawing database is thin, remember
our utilities APPEND*.EXE which emulate a big list of 'past
drawings'.
┌───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ ATTENTION CALIFORNIA PLAYERS! There is a LOTWON package │
│ specifically designed for your state lottery (including the DECCO │
│ game). │
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
6) * A chance to get the PROFESSIONAL or CALIFORNIA LOTWON package FREE!
No kidding! Each #13 registrant in every 100 will receive LOTWON
plus his/her check/money order un-cashed!!! It goes like this:
registered users #013, #113, #213, #313, ... , #1013, ... ,

║ LOTWON ── PRODUCTIVITY TIPS ║
╚═════════════════════════════╝
1) As soon as you finish reading this file, make backup
copies of all LOTWON disks. There are beginners who are using
these programs, so here is the command:
DISKCOPY A: B: (repeat with each LOTWON disk).
2) Have ready a blank formatted diskette and start creating
the DATA* files required by the LOTWON programs. Insert the disk
in drive A: (or B: for that matter). Make sure that DOS can find EDLIN.COM.
It should be in a \DOS directory included in a PATH command. Invoke EDLIN:
A:> EDLIN DATA3 (for the 3-digit game)
*i (for 'insert' )
*1:0,7,4<press ENTER> (or any other 3-digit number; the
1st line IS the MOST RECENT drawing you have)
*2:8,5,6<ENTER> (you actually type the real daily number
which was drawn immediately PRECEDING the number in the
line *1)
*3:etc.
*4:etc.
*
* (and so on with all the drawings you have available).
*<CTRL>C (stops inserting the numbers)
*E (exits EDLIN and saves DATA3 to disk).
3) Repeat step 2 for DATA4 (3,9,0,5 etc.), DATA (for lotto:
23,45,1,19,33,14).
4) Label this disk ORIGINAL DATA* FILES and be careful with
this disk. Use the utility APPEND-6 on any other disk but this
one. You can restore any DATA* file altered by APPEND-6 using the
DOS command REPLACE A:DATA* B: (the original disk is in drive
A:).
5) Take another disk and label it DIGIT-3. Copy to this disk
all LOTWON programs with the digit 3 in their names. Also, copy
here DATA3 from the disk with the DATA* files and the utility
COUNTER.EXE (it counts how many drawings your DATA* file has,
since we usually forget).
6) Take another disk and label it DIGIT-4. Copy to this disk
all programs with '4' in their names, plus DATA4, plus COUNTER.
7) Take another diskette and label it LOTTO-6. Copy to this
disk all programs with LOT and MAND in their names, plus DATA,
plus COUNTER.EXE, plus APPEND-6, plus MOST-6.EXE.
8) Take another disk and label it MINIMUM. Copy to this disk
all programs with the group of letters MINIM in their names, plus
DATA, plus COUNTER, plus APPEND-6, plus MOST-6.
9) If you have a hard drive, you can run all LOTWON programs
from one subdirectory:
C:>MD\LOTWON
C:>CD\LOTWON
C:\LOTWON>COPY A:*.EXE ( repeat the step for all LOTWON
disks).
C:\LOTWON>COPY A:DAT*
10) If your computer has high density floppy drives (both
5.25" or 3.5" formats), you can also run more LOTWON programs
from one drive).
